Heir to the Texting Crown: Nokia E5

Ladies and Gentlemen say hello to the Nokia E5, sibling of the mad text machines the E71 & E72, the E5 is a smart phone for the business class as well as for the hip and image conscious youth of today. The E5 comes with the S60 symbian software reminiscent of the E72. The phone comes with a 600 MHz processor, 256MB Ram and a larger F2.4 camera aperture. The fixed-focus 5 megapixel camera on the E5 has the Extended Depth of Field feature.
Connectivity wise, the E5 comes with HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS for satellite navigation. Its maximum download and upload speeds over the network are 10.2Mbps and 2Mbps. Anyone with an older S60 Nokia device can navigate the E5 as it has the same older basic outlay’s to choose from, six of them to be exact. Getting an email account up and running on the E5 is very simple. It comes with all the popular email services like Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo. Although if you are looking for a phone with games and applications on your mind then the E5 is not the best option at all as it runs the older symbian OS, which is quickly becoming obsolete and therefore lacks quality apps.
A 2.36″ 256K-color display of 320 x 240 pixel resolutions takes up most of the space on the front of the phone, whilst the rest of the space is covered by the QWERTY keyboard with comparatively bigger keys then the E71. On top there’s a 2mm charger plug, a 3.5mm audio jack and the microUSB port, which is nicely hidden under a plastic flap. together the charger cork and the microUSB port can be worn for charging the phone. On the back you have the loudspeaker grille and the huge camera and flash. The Nokia E5 is powered by Symbian 9.3 and it runs on the S60 3rd edition user interface. Synchronization is also pretty nice and easy although you do need the Ovi Suite for equipments to go the way they are planned to. transfering and receiving contacts via SMS or Bluetooth is also very simple. The price tag for this phone is $259.
Pro’s: Qwerty keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Music player, Office document viewer and editor, reasonable price.
Con’s: Small screen, low quality video recording, memory card located beneath the battery.
